Senior: Personally, I liked the project-based learning style IPoly offered, especially having to present so much. I learned how to present not just material, but also myself to authority figures and fellow peers. Before, I had a hard time presenting in general, but now I can confidently teach an hour long class full of underclassmen about a topic I’ve researched and advocated for for 10 months, which is the current senior project at IPoly. However, some facilities, such as the lack of AP courses substituted for programs such as dual enrollment and young scholars, has led me to be in a severe disadvantage when it came to fulfilling credits and competing for college acceptances. When one takes an outside college course, it does not substitute for a core class, meaning I wouldn’t be able to take 4-6 college courses a semester, because that would total to having 8-10 classes a semester, which is way too much.
