Senior: Overall it was a good experience. The one thing I would change is the layout of the classrooms. There should not be classrooms in far parts of the school, away from all the other classes. If there needs to be different sections to decrease congestion, then there should at least be more classrooms in that area. Sophomore: I'm a student taking the MBacc course at Elite Open School. MBacc course gives us a completely different opportunity of learning from the original high school course. MBacc class goes on online and follows the form of the class called the forum that is made by Minerva University. In the forum, we meet teachers and students living in different countries online. The advantage that I found in this course is that we are doing 'real' learning, not just studying for exams or university. By doing student-led classes and lots of presentations, we learn what we have to learn in the real world and relate every topic to each other. Whenever I take the class, I feel like I'm really learning something very useful and meaningful. Junior: Acaciawood is an amazing school, with teachers who seek to provide the utmost care for each student. Sophomore: I really like this school because it gives the students a chance to express themselves. This school also gives you a look into college is going to be like. Not only are you on an actual college campus throughout your high school experience, but you're able to take college classes from Mt.Sac professors. You have the exact same schedule as 1/4 of the students in your grade, so it's super easy to make friends. It's also easier to make friends since it's an international school, all students are coming from different cities so no one knows each other and you have to make new friends. Only downside is all of the class are extremely small. There is around 500 students for all 4 grades, and only about 120 students in each grade. This makes the graduating class really small, and you basically know everyone, which can cause problems with drama. Senior: Although there is a bit of a lack of diversity (considering this school is located in a largely Asian community), I have enjoyed my time at Rowland High School and felt very safe there. The classes are of good quality and I have received a lot of support from my teachers over the years. The classrooms offer a comfortable environment and the teachers I had were very focused on the students. There are many clubs and organizations to explore but they do not do a good job on informing members who do not have social media about activities, as well as school events mostly being advertised on social media. There have been some incidents of school fighting but the school does contain security staff to ensure safety of students and uphold the school policies. Despite this, the school has aided in my success and I have noticed that they have put more effort into school events and creating more activities for students which I hope future students can enjoy.... Senior: I really loved going to Ontario Christian because the school focuses more on a student as a whole, rather than just academics. Ontario Christian encourages their students to pursue their different interests by having flexible coaches, teachers, and staff. The faculty supports multi-sport and activities students by letting students take tests earlier and providing homework early in case students are going to be absence due to sports or other activities. Senior: Bosco Tech is an amazing school that I will always hold close to my heart. Though it is an all male Private Catholic High School, I have been able to cherish all the moments that make me the man I am today. This school has helped me become a better person, son, and older brother towards my younger sister. The education and teachers at Bosco Tech are phenomenal as I feel prepared to leave Bosco and have the ability to succeed in college. Though I love my school very much the one thing I would change about Bosco Tech would be to update the buildings and bathrooms. Most of the restrooms and the classrooms haven't had any updates since the school opened in 1955. The only significant update each classroom has received is an air conditioning and heater for when the weather gets too hot or too cold. Middle School Student: I attended Veritas Classical Academy from 2013 to 2016, after coming to the US with my family and father, who attended college here to get a second degree. Back then, I was inexperienced in most aspects, especially English and in developing relationships with other people. Veritas was still a very small school when I attended, and their method of letting both young and old students mingle, and interact with each other was such a shock and very different from what I experienced in Korea. And yet, the method seems to have worked perfectly; I was surprised to find out that bullying and violence was common in most middle-and-high-schools, since I'd never experienced anything of the sort at Veritas. I thought all American schools were that nice! Overall, attending Veritas was a real blessing in my life, because it allowed me to get a good education, which allowed me to open my eyes to the world, think a tier above "other kids", and follow God. Sophomore: Whittier Christian High School is a tremendous school both academically and spiritually. The teachers and faculty do a superb job in all aspects of the school whether that be teaching, facilitating, or helping. WHCS offers classes for different levels and also has a variety of clubs and groups to join. I personally have grown at Whittier Christian through their academic classes and have learned so much more. I will also begin my journey growing in school activities as is I’ll be joining ASB for my Sophmore year. Parent: Beautiful school in many ways. At Amat, they really have their priorities straight and care about each and every kid. The emphasis is on the whole child - making sure they are growing academically, spiritually, socially, and in their God-given talent. The teachers are incredible. They cover all material very well, very approachable, no nonsense - excellent care for the kids. I really appreciate this aspect of the school because it is hard to find a good balance of teachers. My kid comes home raving about his classes, and I clearly see him progressing in his studies as well. The honors program really stands out as a huge benefit for the advanced student, it’s hard to find a program like this anywhere.
