I have had such a memorable experience at Lane! I couldn't ask for more. The staff is wonderful, the teachers care about the students and the students are so friendly. I played football, baseball and run track at lane and I have had so much fun not only competing, but playing alongside my friends. The coaches care so much about their athletes and are always striving to help us be better people.
I wouldn't change much about Lane, the community is amazing and I am exited for college, but I will miss my high school and its memories.

Students are generally really nice and caring, it's easy to find your niche. There's a wide variety/spectrum of people ranging from not really caring about school to being super serious about school, so you don't ever get too boxed in; however all people there are generally quite intelligent. So many opportunities for extracurriculars and really interesting electives. An issue is staff treating cases of discrimination or violence seriously, as most reports get pushed aside with very little follow through. Most teachers are generally respectful, however there are a few who have made racist/sexist remarks, and their behavior does not change even after reporting. This is not all of the staff. Diverse school, but still issues with segregation (a symptom of Chicago).
Lane Tech is an amazing school where the students are diverse and the resources are numerous. Students have access to well-qualified teachers and aid. Lane Tech excels in all areas: the sports teams dominate their fields, there are over 100 student-led clubs, our theater productions and choirs are superb. This list can continue endlessly because Lane Tech stops at nothing to succeed and provide its students with as many resources and opportunities as possible. The only problem with Lane Tech is that its students do not always feel heard, thus this year alone Lane Tech has started numerous committees dedicated to voicing the opinions of the student body and bringing problems directly to the administration. I would highly recommend this school to anyone because it serves everyone. My biggest piece of advice is to network and not to prohibit yourself from branching out. Instead, put yourself out there! There will always be a group willing to accept you with open and loving arms.
