Carmel is, overall, an absolutely fantastic school. To deny that is to be ignorant of everything it provides and the privileges it gives to it’s students. And while it’s evident just how wonderful the education and opportunities are at Carmel, there’s much that can be bettered, if not completely changed. Many are little things, and they don’t take away completely from the shine that Carmel so knowingly exudes. But they full the school, none the less. It could do for a better councilor system, and a better handling in their anonymous reports (Or reports from students and parents in general). The school is wonderful, and the education it’s provided me is something I have to remind myself constantly that many dream to have. But like all things, it’s not perfect!

There has been a lot of dramatic heat in Carmel High School, but this really is the school for you to be literally anything you want. You can be a journalist and publish for the Hilite and Acumen, yuh can be a photographer, you can participate in STEM, you can be a part of business and DECA, you can be part of science bowl/Olympiad, you can be a part of the choir and orchestras, you can even be a part of the art, even languages as well! Only downside about this school is that you can get easily lost. Plus the drama can be a little crazy (ex: Carmel Hell Week).
Formally speaking, Carmel High School academically performs well and dominates in sports from women's lacrosse to men's basketball. In another light, CHS is an interesting school to say at the least. Since I have been attending, the school culture has transformed. At first, it seemed like a typical high school: challenging classes, many students, and an adequate amount of school spirit. Compared to other schools, CHS is slacking in school spirit, but it definitely makes up for it through its interesting culture composition. After a string of dramatic events transpired, a student created an account that covered these particular events; it was like an secretive newspaper. Even though we had our own successful newspaper, HiLite, which updated us on formal events, this new account, in a way, has created new bonds between CHS students. This year, limited edition merchandise was even sold to commemorate last years occurrences.
