There are so many opportunities available for extracurricular activities. I am involved in 7 clubs at Carmel. There are just such a wide variety of clubs and activities it's hard to just choose one. There's Spanish club where we visit Spanish restaurants around Indiana (food and fun), friendship bracelet making club (self explanatory), and yoga club! If there's not a club at our school that you can dream of, you can create the club yourself. It's great.
Review Your School
Carmel High School is often rated among the top high schools in the United States, and after completing the three years plus the first semester of my senior year, I can attest to its truly fantastic qualities.
The teachers I have had the pleasure of meeting throughout regular, AP, and IB courses have been phenomenal overall. Each one has approached guiding education through creative, thought provoking, and inspiring methods. Our school principle, Mr. John Williams, also goes beyond what words can describe as does our entire administration. Myself and others feel that opportunities here are endless, from a list of over 100 clubs consisting of everything from Buffet Club to TechHounds to Interact/Key Club, endless athletic programs, and encouragement to be involved, I am constantly proud to be a part of this school, and I would encourage relocation to attend a high school at the caliber of Carmel.
Overall Carmel High School is a good school. The expectations were high and the academics were designed to constantly challenge you. For this reason I graduated with an impressive transcript and above average SAT scores. However the school lacked flexibility. You had to be either intelligent, good at sports or good at musical performance or you were overlooked. They pushed getting into the best college possible down your throat but never looked farther then that. They never talked about what to do once you got to college, such as major, career, how to be independent. No one ever talked past getting into the best college possible. Those are my main concerns with Carmel High School.
