My experience at Skyline High School was amazing.I met so many great people, had so many opportunities and had an advanced educational experience.During my time at Skyline High School,I was entered into the National Academy Foundation(or NAF).During my freshman and sophomore year I played softball. As a junior and senior I had an internship with Ready ,Set,Teach! which allowed me to go to an elementary and be a teacher assistant. With NAF ,the academy I was entered into was the academy of information technology. With the NAF academy the goal is to become NAF certified. With Skyline having The NAF academy it opened so many doors for me ,including giving me the opportunity to get an internship with Verizon for the summer of 2019.I also participated in the Aspen Challenge during my Junior year.It was an amazing school.

Skyline is big. When I say Skyline is big, I mean Skyline is BIG. You could see someone walking down the halls and never see them again until graduation. That's what I mean when I say Skyline is big. However, such size comes with a downfall. The teacher faculty for regular classes is awful. Most of the kids in regular classes oftentimes don't want to learn especially from a teacher who doesn't want to teach them. But there is a bright side, AP. From my experience, the AP teachers are wonderful. They are joyous, bright, funny, passionate, and genuinely care about students and how they perform outside of school. Also, with over 5,000 students, Skyline's student culture is second to none. There are so many clubs and extracurricular activities going on after school that Skyline rarely sleeps. Students represent Skyline because of its student culture, someone always knows someone, and it makes the 5,000 students feel more like 500. Skyline is good, but it can be made so much better.
I have attended Skyline High School now for 4 years. The experience has been great overall. I’ve had the opportunity to be in multiple clubs and organizations such as color guard, drill team and the National FFA Organization. I also had the opportunity to receive college credit hours through the Dual Credit program at the school. I attended a local community college in Mesquite, Tx and had an early experience on how college classes work. I’m also currently taking a Dual Credit class at Skyline. Throughout my years at this school I have received great knowledge through my academic work, I’ve met so many people that I created bonds with and most importantly this school has prepared me for life after graduation.
