I hate having to write this but I'm a current student at OC in my junior year. I've never dealt with so much seclusion, bullying, and unacceptance. I'm hispanic and have a different style than the people who go there, and I have been picked on all year. There is so much racism, sexism, bigotry, and favoritism. If you aren't rich, white, and athletic you will be picked on, and nothing will really get done about it. I have had some support with a couple of the teachers which I appreciate, but this school is not worth the bullying or the money. While they do often bring Christ into things, this school isn't very Christian considering how much bullying and injustice there is. People have called me names, thrown things at me, and leave me out of everything and it has made school miserable for me. There are also always cruel jokes made. The dresscode is also very unfair and strict, as only the less favored people get dresscoded. I would not recommend this school, especially for minority groups.
I really loved going to Ontario Christian because the school focuses more on a student as a whole, rather than just academics. Ontario Christian encourages their students to pursue their different interests by having flexible coaches, teachers, and staff. The faculty supports multi-sport and activities students by letting students take tests earlier and providing homework early in case students are going to be absence due to sports or other activities. Ontario Christian was a great place for me, especially, because I have many different interests and at a smaller school, I could be involved in multiple activities at one time. I really enjoyed my time there because I felt truly encouraged to pursue all my interests from Yearbook to Tennis (a sport I’ve never played before)!
I believe that this Christian Highschool deals with things in a regulated manner, which does not cause conflict. Most people at this school, students wise, are nice, and uplifting. Their sports programs are elite, and when the faculty say they are Christian. They try and resemble Christ the best they can! Ontario Christian Highschool, or Ontario Christian School in general, has been one of the better school experiences I have had when it had come to teachers, athletics, or student peers.
