Freshman: Everything 5 star. The overall experience at Valdosta State University is amazing. If you want the perfect college experience, VSU is for you! It is the best place to go if you want to get far away from home and still keep the HOPE Scholarship. While at VSU, you will enjoy all of the campus activities. VSU has organizations that hosts campus activities such as laser tag, flag football and Build-a-Bear workshops (which were free). I enjoy being here because of the warm weather (takes a while to get used to), the scenery (palm trees) and the size of the campus. Other: As a dual enrollment student for Georgia Military College, it was pretty odd at first. Our school had the professors come to us so I didn't get to experience the on campus life. Throughout the 2 years I was in dual enrollment, I came across a total of 8 different teachers who all had different ways of operating their class. Some were strict, some were overly lenient, and some were right in the middle. Overall they were all great in their own ways, except one because the class seemed impossible to get through. Freshman: I chose shorter university because of its small class sized numbers creating a more one on one feel with professors. Freshman: Savannah College of Art and Design is a great college with fantastic resources to help you further your artistic career. The professors are kind, the other students have wonderful and unique insights, and plenty of school-sponsored activities that allow you to talk to industry professionals and get insight into what it's like to create art for a living. However, the largest drawback to the college itself would be the price. It's a very expensive institution and while this does contribute towards supplies and transportation for students I think it's too much for how much extra things you need to purchase for your classes. As I'm writing this review I'm dealing with the reality that I very well may need to transfer to a different school after my freshman year as I just can't afford it. Junior: Toccoa Falls College, or TFC, is a wonderful school for anyone who loves growing in knowledge, growing in their relationship with Christ, a loving community, and hiking! My favorite parts of TFC are the Christ centered community that gathers at events or in the coffee shop, and the beautiful campus that's surrounded by forest and hiking trails leading to waterfalls. TFC is a campus that easily reveals God's presence through the surrounding creation. The professors are also super helpful and very relational as it feels that they truly care for each of their students and their well-being. No college campus is without flaws, however. One of my biggest challenges with TFC is the lack of diversity. There are different cultures on campus, but it sometimes feels like there is cultural division as each group tends to stay close to those similar to them. Freshman: I am attending Reinhardt University in Fall 2024 as a student athlete. My experience overall has been super nice, meeting other athletes and the teachers. The campus is so beautiful with a special spot you can stand in the middle of and you will echo through the hills of the campus. I’m am pleased and excited to start my college journey here at Reinhardt. However there has been multiple issues contacting the housing office and being able to get the room I need to accommodate my disability. Alum: Graduating from Berry College as an accounting major was truly memorable. Other: A very good school with an exciting city around. Very useful for catering to the specific challenges that Black Women face concerning their challenges in the employment sector. I would say try your best to create your own system for navigating your academic, extracurricular life etc because the stature of the school doesn't save, you; you can bring the horse to the water but can't force it to drink. It's still college and you may be very prone to getting caught up in the mix, especially with all the parties happening, Morehouse next door, the Atlanta University Center, and a bunch of other opportunities for young people to hang out. Also, Spelman has some unique and highly revered experiences and communities that you will have access to so take full advantage of them at every opportunity you get.
