Freshman: My experience at Georgetown University as a Freshman has been phenomenal. The very first month has been the most memorable. Due to how open the community was, I was able to meet new people every single day and also, I was able to find my long-life friends immediately! The community was so diverse that I had never heard a single negative comment. It was purely all just having fun and sharing honest thoughts. Alum: I am thankful for my undergraduate experience at Washington University in St. Louis. The college has great connections for post-grad opportunities in multiple fields - business, medicine, research, engineering. I was easily able to switch between the Arts & Sciences program and the Business School at the end of my sophomore year. There is a huge focus on medicine, so even for other career paths there are healthcare adjacent offerings (e.g. Healthcare Management, Bio Medical Engineering, Global Health, Psychology/Neuroscience/Philosophy). The brand name and resources do carry for other non-health related professions too. The classwork can be tough so it's best you find out which paths are a good fit for you in terms of academic rigor, class size, and teaching style. Your counselors can help with this. Junior: As someone who initially bypassed college to enter the workforce, I found it hard to really want to return back to school. Especially now that I have bills. Sophomore: The University of Virginia is a great school! There is a beautiful campus containing many of the brightest, most optimistic, and welcoming minds in the world. After finishing up my first year "On-Grounds," as all Wahoos call it, I have left more impressed than I came in. Senior: I loved my experience with the University of Alabama at Birmingham so far! The campus is exhilarating, especially because it stretches over several blocks of Birmingham. There are "blue lights" on every block, making it a pretty safe campus. The dorms are nice, and so is the recreation center. Junior: I love that it’s such a big school! It’s hard to imagine not having such a large and beautiful campus to walk around during the day and all the space also allows for there to always be something going on. There are so many events and clubs and large Greek life. There’s also several Divine9 sororities and fraternities and multicultural Greek life as well. Even if Greek life isn’t for you, there are many clubs that make you feel like family. Education is so important and valued here. There’s also many networking opportunities and again, just so many helpful events and because it is a big school, they’re always prepared for many people to attend so it’s less of an overwhelming experience. Junior: Ultimate Medical Academy is the best decision I ever made! If I had to do it all over again, I definitely would. Senior: Miami has been a great place the past few years for me. As a transfer student, coming in not knowing anyone, I have met many types of different students from hard working backgrounds. The professors are very much committed to getting to know everyone in their class, and not just going through the motions as a mundane robot you see at some larger schools. In my experience the average class size outside of your one or two 100 level class is between 5-30 students. The campus is beautiful. Everywhere you look is palm trees and clear skies (with the exception of your occasional rain shower) the university does a nice job maintaining the buildings and surrounding vegetation. Food wise the options aren’t the greatest. In the past few years there has been an attempt to bring in healthier options, but for the most part the dinning hall and food court include your average Starbucks, subway, panda, so on and forth. GWU was actually a very close second in my choices for undergrad, and I sometimes still wish I had chosen GW. Graduate Student: My experience at Herzing School of Nursing has been amazing- starting with my recruiter, Marice. He was very knowledgeable of the program and really persuaded me this college was a great option. My enrollment coordinator, Javier reached out to me several times during admissions, and even checked on me when I was in the hospital having a procedure during my first week of classes! Freshman: I am currently a freshman at Creighton University. From the short time I have been there, I have seen that the community there is kind and caring. I have met many wonderful people that have made the change from home to college easier. People there truly care about you and will help you with any of your concerns. Freshman: My first year at Rutgers was something I’ll never forget. I made a ton of friends, learned the ways of film, and got my first job. Graduate Student: Chapman was the first time I ever had a truly positive educational experience. One of the things I enjoyed about the school was how the student body is incredibly friendly, open to new experience, and almost always will lend a helping hand. For the most part, classes are smaller and professors are engaging. Almost all professors I had were really passionate about the subjects they taught and were more than willing to assist any students with questions.
