Senior: NeoCity Academy is a magnet, STEM high school offering pathways in engineering, artificial intelligence, and biodesign. The school itself provides great opportunities for students and clear instruction in classes. Internships and experiential learning opportunities are commonplace, as well as a unique high school experience. The school is changing, though currently there is ample time for students to work on classwork and other commitments. Block scheduling is also present, allowing significant instruction time. Students frequently get all As, and high-level AP classes are offered and even required of students. The only downsides of the school are the policies and district compliance, and I was often given conflicting and incorrect answers when asking questions to administration. The school district's buses also took several hours (about 3-4 hours total on a bus a day). In summary, the school itself is amazing but some of the district policies could be improved.... Senior: OCSA is a dream school for the arts. I love the smaller class size and the ability to express creativity. The teachers and school staff are all amazing, caring and fun people. Junior: As a junior in this high school I've felt welcomed, everyone is nice to each other and there is no fights (at least not physical ones) and most teachers try their best to push one's potential. I feel that this school is a great opportunity for me to enrich myself in the medical field since it is what I want to be after I graduate high school, I am currently almost done with all of my high school requirements and I am attending dual enrollment as a Medical Assisting student at Osceola Technical College and as a dual enrollment student In Valencia College while taking morning classes in PATHS, which are art and my Project Lead The Way class for Biomedicine to have a certification as a Biomedical Technician. The administrative staff is always there for everyone and want us to always reach out whenever we need to and even though being in this school can be sometimes stressing, I feel like after I graduate I will be ahead and even more prepared for college.... Freshman: This school is amazing. The teaching system is great for kids that are trying to do well in the world. The teachers are great teachers and very funny. Most of the student part take in a sport or club. SInce this is a private school it cost miney, but its worth it. They help you understand God's word and you can always ask a teacher for any question or help that you need. The lunch food is better that most schools lunch, luckly, you can pack your own lunch. Senior: I have been at New Dimensions for almost 3 years, and I wouldn't have picked any other school to experience high school in. I am extremely grateful that I been at this school for the majority of my high school career; I made my first real friends here with NDHS's friendly and small-town atmosphere, I feel safe and secure at the school, and I went out of my shell through this school, experiencing musical theatre, playing in the school band, becoming co-president of Interact club and being accepted into Dual Enrollment, plus being a part of many clubs such as STEM, Art, Creative Writing, and the National Honor Society. Although the school does need more facilities (a nurse, bigger spaces and a counselor), this school bumped my GPA from a 2.4 to a 3.6, introduced me to wonderful people and my best friend, and broke me out from my shy self from middle school. Senior: Celebration is a nice place! Overall, my experience has been positive, with many great teachers and friends I've met to guide me along the way. Alum: I've attended a few high schools in my career and I can say that Harmony High School (HHS) was a really good one. There's different programs for every student, which can inspire them to take their education to another level, in college, university, or other post-graduation plan. The school is most known for their veterinary and agriculture programs, but they also have a criminal justice program and a large music/theater program. The teachers there definitely want to see students succeed, and provide a lot of resources to help students achieve their goals, and prepare them for post-graduation. The school environment is very friendly and there are a wide variety of clubs and sports, as well as activities that students should get involved in. The students definitely have a lot of school spirit, which is due to how big sports are in the school (the football games are always fun to watch). Niche User: (My old Middle School as they didn’t have my high school to choose from) Going into middle school was a scary thing. I was afraid of the new responsibility and freedom that can with with being in middle school. However, my experience from 6th-8th grade was the best. Every year my teachers were amazing. They were in there for the passion of teaching others. They always put the student first. The education was amazing for me, as now I’m in high school at Tohopekaliga. Everything I have learned carried over to allowing me to succeed. From organization, time management and note taking skills made me to the student I am today. Top 30 in my class with a 4.3 GPA. Parent: I am really happy my kids go to City of Life, and my elementary kids love it there. I was/am always a little hesitant about private schools, since I grew up in private, then went public and currently teach in public. So I see the difference in education quality (public has more resources, oversight, and teachers with experience). However, I feel that my child is emotionally and mentally safer at COLCA than at our local public schools (which I work in), just because of the emphasis on kindness, love, and the smaller size. The teachers at COLCA are very loving, kind, and go over and above for the kids. I believe they are working towards increasing training, academic monitoring, etc so I do see improvement there and it’s getting better each year. The most important thing- my kids say there is no bullying and they say the kids are kinder than when they were in public school. So I’m blessed and happy for that. Junior: I’ve been going to gateway for a few years now and it’s been a great high school experience, this year is one of my best. My freshman year was so depressing but not because of the school it was mainly me. But as years went by I started getting more and more comfortable at my school, making friends, joining clubs, and making great respectful friendships with teachers. I’m glad I am zoned for Gateway because I honestly can’t see myself anywhere else. Even though I’m not so popular but I see this school as a second home in a way. Even the people that are portrayed to be rude like “popular kids” are actually really friendly once you get to know them. My graduating class have know each other for years, some of us since elementary, but in our junior year, we’re all so close with one another that I’m not shy in classrooms, everyone is friends with everyone.
