This has been the most amazing three years of my high school experience (especially being in IB)! I have met new people of all ages and got very involved in a few clubs. It has been nice being helped and helping others. It has been amazing creating goofy memories with my friends, and as well academic memories with them and teachers as well.

I would say that my freshmen year in Gateway was awesome! My teachers were good and nice to get along with. Not only that, I was able to make good friends with my classmates. But then as I continued my high school journey, I started to see Gateway's true colors. I saw some subpar teachers, and some teachers that were exceptional and proved that they can be trusted. I also got exposed to some factors that made Gateway a hit-or-miss school for me. I saw that there were some things that could have been revamped and polished such as the curriculum in some of the courses. For example, the foreign language classes could have been taught a different way such as exposure to the cultural norms and cuisine. Also, some of the teachers at my school should have been spoken to for handling discipline. For example, my English III & IV teachers should have been spoken to for lashing out at their students for no apparent reason.
I have learned my fair share through this school. Let it be the algebraic equations presented or figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. In ninth grade, I discovered my passion to write a story and captivate the people around me. I was admired by the authors that were in my library, praised for their beautiful creations. I wanted to create my own world, and this school helped me build up my skills.
My reading teachers would advice me to be more abstract, not to follow the same rules as those I admired. My English teachers tightened the skills that I lack and helped enhance my mind to something more than an overdramatized story. My passion started here and was encouraged to grow as my dream became clearer.
