Senior: Colonial Forge High School is a good school and I’ve enjoyed all four years here. I’ve had some of the strongest teacher support and helpful interactions with teachers concerning my education here. The atmosphere is highly enjoyable and comfortable here, and clubs and elective classes are fun and helpful -especially those concerning future occupational paths. Something that could be improved upon here would be the way that disciplinary actions are carried out. A good example of this is during both the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, when one hour shift lunch periods were changed back to multiple, 30 minute shift lunch periods as a result of fighting in school. This had significant negative impacts on students who used this time productively for club meetings, making up school/test work, and travel students. Senior: Mountain View High School is notably, an excellent school under an even better administration. Personally, I moved to the school in between my freshman and sophomore years of high school, and was quickly accepted into the community as an integral member. Since then, I have been proud to commit myself to a wide array of clubs, activities, classes, and sports, and have made numerous close connections both with other students, but with staff members, teachers, counselors, faculty, and my administrators. Between my sophomore and junior year, however, there was a change in principal, wherein a previous assistant principal was promoted into the principal position. Since then, there have been a tightening of regulations and a sudden shift in administrative rationales. Many students and staff have expressed their surprise with the new leadership, however many individuals have maintained a bright spirit and have found ways to work around the tough new rules. Senior: My experience at this school was not too bad. I have many things to say that are positive and several things say that are negative. The worst thing about the school, is definitely how many people there are. It gets extremely crowded specifically in one part of the hallways. Many students at the school have spoken about how overcrowded the school is. Besides that there are not many issues with the school. Most, if not, all teachers are very respectful and make learning very engaging. I've only had one encounter with a teacher who was not very good at teaching. He just gave us assignments without teaching us how to do them, but the school acknowledged it and had him replaced. The school demonstrated that they will take an action to make sure the students are receiving the education that they need. Junior: My school experience has been a mix of positives and challenges. The best part has been learning from passionate teachers, whose dedication has made subjects enjoyable.
