Forge is a very great high school for those who wish to strive academically. A good amount of teachers are excellent and confident about the subject they are teaching their students and are always willing to help them as well. School spirit is also a very important at Forge but it can be split between athletic and non-athletic students! Since it is a predominantly white school, I must say there are cliques that exists among the POC community. Overall it is a good school for anyone who wishes to pursuit a spirit and academically driven high school experience!
I’m currently a Junior at CFHS, and for the two years I have been present inside the school, it has been the two best school years I’ve had I dare say. I wasn’t present for my 9th grade year because of Covid so I was virtual. But for my Sophomore year and my current Junior year I say CFHS is definitely a Highschool to attend. The teachers are respectful of students be it their preferred name or pronouns, if they have disabilities or a 504 in place, if they just need special one on one time because that’s how they learn; they do their best to make sure each student is learning and moving towards graduation. I can think of several teachers who have done this for me and how it’s helped on multiple occasions with tests or just a simple assignment. This is also the first school I have been to that I can happily and comfortably say, that after 3 years of attending, that I have not once been bullied at CFHS unlike every other school I’ve been too since and including elementary.
It's easy to become frustrated with how this school handles certain matters. Not only administration & staff, but students play a big role in overlooking individual issues within the school. Minorities voices tend to get muffled within Colonial Forge's crowded environment, which leads to many unsolved issues that stretch for years on end. Certainly, there are adults and other peers who are strong advocates within our building, but it's extremely difficult to seek support in an Institution that is openly apathetic towards particular groups.
