Colonial Forge has definitely made me into the person that I am today, even if I was not able to finish out my senior year. I am so grateful to have gone to a school that makes leaving so hard, so much so that I want to go back! I was in Student Leadership for my last two years of high school and that made me so much more appreciative to my teachers, administrators, and fellow classmates for their hard work to make Colonial Forge "one of America's top high schools." It is here that I learned the importance of respect, honor, and responsibility and I know that the lessons I have learned will take me far in life. There is so much more than just a student body and a staff at Colonial Forge High; there are life-long friends, life-altering teachers, and life-changing opportunities. A sports team becomes a family, a teacher becomes a stand-in parent, a classroom becomes a place to discover and explore, a pep rally becomes the epitome of school pride. A school becomes a home.

What I liked most about CFHS was the amount of spirit the school had, especially during homecoming week. The students would be decked out in their spirit outfits of the day and the hallways would have the coolest decorations (seniors usually had the best hallway). I love the atmosphere during that time of year, everyone is buzzing with excitement over our (usually) inevitable victory on Friday. On the other hand, though, many activities and sports at my school are grossly underfunded and unappreciated. The atmosphere surrounding some of these sports/activities can be tense as it is painfully obvious the student body and some faculty members do not care for said sport/activity whatsoever, leaving the students involved disheartened and defensive. In regards to academics I believe there are some amazing teachers as well as teachers who seem like they would rather be doing something else. The students are kind for the most part and their is a lack of diversity due to county population.
Colonial Forge is a great high school in terms of students and academics. The district is very nice and the majority of students live relatively privileged lives. It is a safe school with little violence and the people are accepting. The community of Colonial Forge is held together by years of knowing each other. However, the staff of the school is not as top notch as it seems from the outside. Students perform well in standardized tests due to their upbringing more than the actual teaching. Teachers at Forge do not all teach to the best of their abilities, it is almost like they see the well raised children and just send them off on their own rather than teaching them the material. A handful of teachers at the school truly care about their jobs as well as the students. The faculty could be better, but it is good that we have to challenge ourselves to be greater without the help of our teachers. Overall, the community in Colonial Forge is better than the actual teaching that goes on.
