The school has a heavy hispanic and latinx community. There are an array of different classes offered to tend to everyone's interests and for their benefit. The science department has had some poor choices in their staff but the unique opportunities provided from the different science subjects have made up for it. The math performance doesn't prove the strengths of the math teachers. The math teachers show great dedication and care. The art and student activities are strong and hold a great community with a lot of participation that speaks loud for our school spirit.
This school has 2 great pathways programs that are very well-equipped and beneficial. Arts and music programs are pretty strong here. Academically this school is very weak. AP classes are often endangered and removed. Teachers at this school are either extremely dedicated to their students or just show up to collect their paycheck(If they show up at all). Classes are left without a teacher often and I've had multiple cases where we had no teacher or lessons for months. This mostly happened in essential classes like english and math, which explains the school's academic performance. Administration couldn't care less about student safety and academics. The school needs a complete turn around in its leadership.
Overall a great school there are many recourses to help with college readiness and various other resources to help students in need. Very inclusive and has multiple activities and clubs to take part in. Only major downside is security guards not paying attention.
