Entry Level Employee: Honestly one of the best jobs I've ever had. I worked decent hours, never too early or late in the day, with really great pay. I even accrued paid time off that increased with my weekly hours as a bonus. The company really cares about its employees and does its best to make you feel appreciated. There were semi-annual interviews where the managers go over what you do well with and award you a raise. Experienced Employee: I love working here. I used to work at State Farm for 8 years and the quoting rules are strict. With Farmers' Insurance there is more flexibility. If Farmers' itself is unable to write a policy we can always write it through Bristol West (autos), Pacific Specialty, ForemostStar, brokers and as a last resort, California Fair Plan. The plus side we get comission out of those sales too! With other insurance carriers if a person has a bad driving record, or too many losses in a home they are unable to write it and lose comission on it but with Farmers' Insurance it's almost a guarantee that anyone can be insured.... Overall, it was really special being able to make magic for guests everyday and connect with others in a fantastical, fun, and immersive environment. I did work through the pandemic, which had its share of challenges--but it really helped me grow a lot professionally in my role. My custodial leadership really was amazing, so helpful, honest, and provided great feedback on performance. Unfortunately, as a convention guide, I felt that the leadership lacked connection with us. Entry Level Employee: I've been at BJ's almost 2 years. I started as a host and management was understanding in that this was a summer job that I'd be leaving come fall. They welcomed me back with open arms whenever I returned and they trained me as a server the next summer. Management assured me I always had a home there and it really did feel like a family, as opposed to just another corporate chain. I asked management about a potential marketing position within the company and they worked with me to make this possible. Sometimes upper management would make things difficult but the local management would not take it out on the lower end employees. They would always make the workplace safe and secure, safety was the main objective everyday. I think AECOM in general is very safety oriented, and provides ample opportunities in safety training. Local managers and supervisors are very friendly and helpful in all aspects of work. There was no demeaning talk or treatment of the employees, and they used mistakes as opportunities for learning. The company make very fun and stylish clothing that fit todays standards and they give their employees very generous discount options that make getting clothes for work/ life affordable. I think there are a lot of good people in the company that do really care for the smaller people that are working in the stores, but there is an overwhelming amount of workers that sadly don't care as much for us. Something else that Vans should look into working on is allowing more growth opportunities to people that have the abilitly and desire to move up in their store or the company. My company, like other businesses have been hit hard by the recent quarantine and we, the employees, are not only tryin to catch up from the lack of support from the most recent months. We constantly keep capacity in check for our safety and the customers, we sign a health acknowledgement and check our partners temperature of whom ever we work with that day so that we can be healthy around each other. If the pressure become to much my company also provide mental health help and counselling.
