If you can attend in-person classes, UCLA is a great school! The student dorms are on the expensive side, but well worth the price. There are several dining halls right next to the dorms that each cater to a different style (ie dine-in, to-go, vegan specialties), as well as a few restaurants on campus and the nearby Westwood Village. The campus itself is gorgeous (I love taking evening walks around sunset), and you can learn about the history of it from guided tours if you want. If you're looking for a rad party scene, just cross the street into frat row, and you'll find parties every week. In terms of academics, I will simply say that UCLA is a top school. You will have to work your butt off, sometimes in less-than-ideal circumstances, but the returns will be more than worth it. Most professors are great, but some are only there to do research and are forced to grudgingly teach a class or two, so look them up on Bruinwalk before enrolling in their classes. All-in-all, a great school!
UCLA was a wonderful place to attend for my undergraduate career. Although I did not continue in the field that I obtained my degree for, I still felt that the quality of education was great. I regret not using more resources that were available to me that would have helped me flourish more, but I can say that there were people and orgs that were eager to help along the way. Student life is buzzing at all times and campus pride always shines through that I am sure future and prospective students can clearly see. Go Bruins!
As soon as you walk on to campus you feel accepted; a feeling of home and success takes over the atmosphere and you’re right there in middle of it all. Breathe it in. Yes! That’s the smell of success at a high rate. I absolutely love the aesthetics of the University of California at Los Angeles, and UCLA also is the home of many successful and professional individuals across the globe. I plan to attend UCLA to obtain my doctorate degree in Public Health this upcoming Spring.
God has always provided for me in so many ways than just one. When I first visited the University of California at Los Angeles I was intrigued by the beauty of how the campus and its landscape. Now, I get to join the talented and eager minds that embody this institution of higher learning. The most important thing I want to learn while studying there is how to improve the lives and mental health of our communities, cities, state and eventually on a larger scale and globally. Thanks for the opportunity to share!
