The campus community thrives on inclusivity and support, with individuals eager to engage in meaningful conversations and lend a helping hand. UCI has a myriad of club opportunities available. No matter your interests, there is an organization that caters to your passions that provide avenues for personal development and also serve as platforms for making lifelong friendships with like-minded individuals! The campus boasts a wide array of support resources aimed at ensuring the success and well-being of every student. Academic support centers, tutoring programs, and career services are readily available, empowering students to excel in their studies and prepare for their future endeavors. A big plus is that within a short walking distance there is a lot of dining options. Additionally, the convenience of nearby grocery stores and transportation to them ensures that students can easily access the essentials they need, making life on campus incredibly convenient.
I haven't had a bad experience in any of my classes so far. If anything, I think most professors are really supportive and go out of their way to assist their students. The same can be said about the teaching assistants. Additionally, I really enjoy the campus as it is really diverse and always full of new clubs and events. Sometimes these events even hand out resources and free items that can be helpful for the rest of the school year! I can't speak too much about the clubs though because I have not looked into them, but UCI offers lots of opportunities to learn about these distinct clubs and organizations. Most of the people at these events are really welcoming and informative as well!
UCI is a nice school, challenging classes, beautiful campus, great location. My daughters dorm room had NO HEATING all winter, she let them know, but it was never fixed, they eventually were loaned a space heater. They also shut off the hallway lights for a few days, in the Spring and beginning of summer the rooms get very HOT, no AC and during holiday breaks, if you are not able to make it home, you will not have any food, they close everything down, my daughter had to order from Door Dash to get food delivered which was very expensive for several weeks during breaks, she does not have a car. We paid for full meal plan, the most expensive, I do not recommend doing this! If I counted the amount of food she actually ate on campus compared to what I paid, she could have been eating at 5 Star restaurants daily. Other than this, I think it is a nice school.
