Alum: Academics are very strong and the teachers care about what they teach. Athletic teams and school spirit is prevalent but not overbearing. The k-12 social scene can be difficult to integrate into in the later grades so if you want to attend, I recommend entering earlier rather than later as by the time high school arrives the friend groups are formed and often closed off and the parents don't feel like making new parent friends.... Parent: I absolutely love every aspect of ECDS from the small group environment to the teachers and all of the programming/services offered. The teachers truly care about each student and provide individualized attention to meet their needs. It's wonderful to see such dedication and commitment to student success. The flexibility and focus on adjusting programming on an as needed basis allows students to have success. ECDS focuses on the whole child and each student truly knows that they are a valued member of the community. Suellen and Jody Smith make every effort to work with parents as a team effort to ensure that our children have what they need to be successful and happy. Other: My 2 granddaughters attending this school for a couple of years. I had a granddaughter in another school so call of achievements but her struggles in the first few months were hard. She would come home with basically nothing learned. My daughter in law suggested she apply for St James but financially it was impossible. Needless to say she applied and received a full ride till eighth grade. She has come home with excitement to speak about her day her teachers and classmates 💖 we see the difference in learning that she has completed. St James is an outstanding and excellent school. Parent: My twin boys have been going to St. Andrew Academy since Pre K and now they are in First Grade. The education is exceptional and their expertise in teaching has put our minds at ease. The teachers and staff are caring, nurturing and empowering for the students to become their best in their future. At the earlier stage of the Covid Pandemic, St. Andrew Academy became a leader in implementing a distance learning with no hassles and well planning. While public schools were dealing with difficulties in providing their students with a safe education, St. Andrew Academy were on the rollout giving every student that needed a computer and providing paperwork assignments, homework and live information for the parents to activate Zooming for the kids to do distance learning.
