At GFA, we empower students to do the hard, thrilling, essential work of shaping their own world, of building their own future. Our 715 students come from 23 towns in Fairfield and Westchester counties and form an inclusive community that plays on 64 interscholastic athletic teams, participates in a robust service learning program, and aspires to live by our school's motto, "Each for All."

The prestigious academic program is built around small class sizes (average 15), mentoring partnership with faculty (8:1 student to teacher ratio), and Signature Programs (World Perspectives, STEAM, and Human Ecology and Sustainability) spanning all grades.

Our stunning 44-acre waterfront campus in Westport, CT, comprises three ecosystems - a salt marsh, Audubon woodlands, and the Long Island Sound - and diverse architecture. Founded in 1925, GFA has graduated thousands of compassionate, enterprising, broad-minded women and men - people with the courage and vision to build a better world.

Greens Farms Academy has some outstanding academics, others are above average. Teachers and administrators are dedicated and available to students and families. Small class size fosters discussion. Beautiful campus. Extremely homogenous student body racially and socioeconomically. A lot of entitlement among students. If your children are not part of the typical Fairfield County private school demographic, it may be an uncomfortable place to be. Orchestra and band perform at much lower standards compared to local public schools. While GFA has some great points, the overall environment was not a positive one for our child and she is much happier back in public school.

Excellent school and experience for our family! The teachers know their students very well. We had 3 children begin GFA as kindergarteners and graduate. 13 years x 3 children is a lot of first-hand experience with the school grounds, administration/staff, teachers, arts, and athletics. Each child found their voice in the classroom as well as extra-curricular activities to participate and excel. In addition, our children, who went to 3 different colleges, all commented on how well their experiences and time at GFA prepared them for success in college and beyond. It is a tight-knit, caring community built on high academics, trust and following your passions.
I can't imagine sending my children to school anywhere else - they are known, supported and encouraged to succeed in every way at GFA. I am constantly impressed with just how well the teachers know my kids every year, even for that first parent conference! I have two very different children & find that, somehow, GFA manages to be the perfect fit for them both. In addition to our children loving it, we feel incredibly lucky to be a part of the incredible community - from the faculty & administration to the parents who make up the school, there is nowhere we would rather be as a family.
