My daughter is in the 7th grade. The new school principal (Ms. Livingston) started in the 22-23 school year. With her new guidance, fights and other incidents on the school campus have been drastically reduced. My child says the campus is much calmer than what she experienced in the first couple of months in her 6th grade. The school dress code is strictly enforced.
My daughter has done well academically. The teachers are invested in her education. My only wish is that there were more artistic classes offered such as music and mixed media as seen in other public middle schools in the area.
Is this middle school perfect? No. But it is improving. Test scores are going up and the 6th grade class was the largest enrollment they have seen in recent years, especially for the ICAN magnet program. If a kid is academically motivated, they will do well at this school.

My experience overall was pretty great. The students there were good people and there were staff that really cared about the students. While not all staff were intensely attentive involved with the student body, those who were were pretty amazing and those who weren’t tended to try their best overall. Things that could change are potentially classes offered. They have recently added some new courses, which is great, and I feel they should continue broadening their variety if able to.
My son is coming to the completion of eighth grade. We were the first class to start in the new Information Technology magnet program. He will be leaving PBMS with five high school credits. He and MOST of his magnet classmates were lucky enough to get accepted at Pompano Beach High School which we are very relieved about. The school has had its highs and lows over the years but we are glad to see Pompano Middle as a strong choice for neighborhood residents to send their children to.
