Freshman: So far, my experience at Regis University has been amazing. Just because they are a private university and the tuition is a lot higher than a public university doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply. They have a lot of financial aid- and which in my case made my tuition a lot less expensive compared to if I went to a public university. The professors are helpful, supportive, and laid back. They care about your learning and if you’re having trouble with anything in regards to school life or something out of it, they’re understanding and willing to help work something out with you. The students here are friendly and you’ll be able to make new friends easily. One last thing to add, the classes here are smaller than that of a public university and in my instance was more beneficial in better connecting me with my group of friends and better connecting and contacting me with the professors.... Freshman: I have a great overall experience at the University of Colorado Denver. The faculty and staff were knowledgeable and supportive, which made my learning experience enjoyable. Graduate Student: I am graduating this May (2024) with a MA in Biblical Studies. The program is rigorous to say the least, but fair. 75% of the professors care about you as a student and as a human being. There are always some who are not present - do not take part in any discussions and who do not give any feedback - they are no where to be found! AND THEN, there are some who comment throughout the discussions, provide personal videos each week going over classwork, offer Zoom sessions for live feedback, and practically give you a thesis for feedback. No institution can be 100% in this category, but CCU comes close. I do wish they offered doctoral degrees in Biblical Studies. I would like to stay at this school and teach here as well one day. Sophomore: The University of Northern Colorado so far has provided many opportunities in all aspects such as social, emotional, and academic. This university has many groups and resources where all students can find connections and support. The course work has increased throughout my time here, but with services like tutoring and office hours, it becomes more manageable. Greeley has its ups and downs with safety, but the police respond quickly and send out information to help. Sophomore: If a student is looking for the “college life experience,” this university is not for them. As a commuter student, you go to class maybe engage in conversation with one person, then leave. There’s no football or cheerleading team. In general, there is not much school spirit. Safety is another factor I want to hit on. We recently had a situation in which two people died on campus from a shooting. This should not have happened. Sophomore: I love PCC and I'm genuinely sad to be transferring. It's been my most pleasant experience with any academic institution so far in my life. The staff are all kind, there's tons of work study opportunities. It's really pleasant over all. It's easy to make friends, almost everyone going is very nice and sociable no matter who you are or what you look like. 90% of students and faculty are so kind. The campus has great disability accessibility and the disability department are some of the best people I've met. However, one of the streets running through campus gets busy, and can be scary to cross. Campus is nice and open and their online systems definitely need work, it can be hard to navigate at times.
