Sophomore: So, I am an IB student at Classen, and I genuinely really enjoy it. The IB faculty is incredible and prepares us really well for the program, and the school culture is really bright and diverse. I will say their is sort of a clique problem because the majors keep us separate (especially VPA and IB after freshman year) and there isn't much to connect us other than clubs. Also, the VPA teachers are good for arts-specific classes, but the core-class VPA teachers are kind of sketchy/hit-or-miss. Some of the AP teachers really don't do a good job at preparing the students for the classes and there are even a few AP classes that have had a 0% pass rate for the AP exam, which is sketchy and stressful. It would be really nice if there was more mental support because a bunch of sad artists and a bunch of mega-nerds going through one of the most rigorous programs in the world isn't exactly the ideal on mental health, if you know what I mean. Alum: Best Part(s): Teachers and administrators really try to help you succeed and there was little to no bullying, if any at all. If there was bullying, it was not very widespread. Most students were accepting in my experience. Worst Part(s): There was a bit of a drug problem my senior year. Had more police dogs sniff lockers than I'd seen up until that point. The school was also rather poor since it's a charter school. Changes I'd Like: Spending money on things that will actually help the quality of the education instead of purchasing new campuses. Parent: We couldn’t be happier with the teachers and the principal at Earlywine. Our daughters really enjoy going to school here. The pre-k program really warms them up to learning and makes them feel at home. The principal knows many of the students by name and works closely with the PTA. Middle School Student: Mustang Central Middle School is amazing, I love everything about! The teachers are very nice and the kids are super funny and nice. The food at this school is really good as well, you get to have 2 options to choose from for food and both options make you question which one you want. The classes are clean and neat and the way you do your work and keep up with assignments is very organized and easy to find. Senior: Pathways Middle College is a charter high school that prepares students for college and life after high school. Pathways collaborates with the Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC)to give Pathways students access to concurrent classes completely for free. This gives the students here a headstart in their learning career and prepares them for higher education i.e. (four-year universities). My academic experience here has been great, I've learned many new things and made many friends here. Santa Fe South Pathways Mid College is located on the third floor of the main building here at OCCC. I've been at Pathways since my freshman year and many changes have been made. Our school grew tremendously from 200 students to over 400-500 students. This allowed us to create new organizations, clubs, and sports such as basketball, soccer, golf, and tennis. Middle school student: Classen is a solid 4 star school. The majority of the teachers are great and we have a wonderful arts program. I think it’s a pretty good school in general. Middle School Student: Im in 7th grade at BIEMS, and this place is so awesome. The teachers are incredible here, very welcoming also. The dances are LIT. We don't have much homework, right now in seventh grade we have none. Our teacher's focus is to do it in class so we can be kids at home. The people at BIEMS are so kind. Senior: I transferred to Southeast my sophomore year, looking for a change and greater opportunities that my previous school had to offer. Southeast is an application school that focuses on academic achievement while having amazing school spirit and after school activities. I was able to enjoy all sorts of classes that fit my learning needs. The teachers were very attentive and caring. I was always able to communicate with them when I couldn't understand.
