The best part of my experience at HC Sr High was the ability to be part of the newly established Unified Bocce team. This opened my eyes into a world I wasn't aware that I would excel and now pursuing for a career. My worst part of my time at HC Sr High was the time I was a member of the marching band. The social circles and bullying were never addressed and the director and staff never picked shows that were appropriate and fun to perform.
The academics at Harbor Creek are good, but I think the school could do a lot more with them. They offer many upper level classes, which many students take. However, every year during scheduling, I hear students complain about the lack of interesting electives. It becomes difficult to find electives you actually want to take after a year or two. When it comes to extracurriculars, the sports get all the attention, which is typical. The arts programs could really use some help. I've spent many years with the theater program, and even just a little bit of funding could go a long way. The sound systems are very outdated, and the stage floor is scuffed, slippery, and usually dirty. I think they could also do a lot more with student involvement. The only times the students really get involved in things are for spirit weeks and the occasional donation drive for something. It could be more fun if they put some effort into those areas.
Harbor Creek High School is one of the best schools in our area. With great teachers, resources, and courses, you can't not enroll your child here. Teachers get to know each and every student and personalize to help them. The faculty and staff make school more enjoyable and happy. Classes are challenging, but fulfilling. Our leaders in the school make sure we have the best materials and resources to use. Overall, I'm glad I attended this school and will never forget the impact it made on me.
It is a good school that gets your education in, and it presses you to become your best version of yourself; in administration, there is a notable amount of disorganization, but nothing that keeps you from thriving as a student. There is an abundance of extracurriculars for a student to choose from, especially in sports.
Overall it was a pretty basic school there aren't really that many kids that get bullied and most of the teachers are pretty attentive and let you get away with alot. The people there are good and is pretty inclusive.
The teachers and staff are all very friendly. It is a well organized school with great classes. The only thing I'd really like to see more of are extracurriculars and clubs.
Most teachers genuinely care about you and your future and want to see you accomplish everything you can in life. Like to sweep issues under the rug and pick the small things to get upset about but leave the big things
I like how accepting Harbor Creek is. The student body in general is pretty good, and the teachers are all kind. I wish there were more student ran clubs and more emphasis on the arts.
I moved from a smaller town school to Harbor Creek for high school. Since then i’ve received a 4.177 GPA, earned a place in NHS, and received High Honor Roll all four years.
i liked how it was like a big family and all the teachers knew most people because of the size. i liked how we had more freedom to do our work at our own pace in most classes and that we could listen to music/podcasts in most classes while working on our work.
The teachers are easy to talk too and get along with. They are resourceful and some also work at colleges and can help you there as well. Aid’s and other office workers are friendly and always available.
As someone involved in the arts, the funding there is pretty lacking. I think Harborcreek is your run of the mill dominantly white, middle class township, and the school reflects that. The academics are fine; there is AP courses available but not IB. Overall, I liked my experience at HC only because I was grateful to have something average.
Harbor creek is filled with self-entitled students who are being taught by half-assed teachers who don't know what they're teaching. The history department is so lacking in basic history that your average student can't recall major events in history. The math department has one teacher that is so poor in her job that she regularly has students earn bonus points for her mistakes on tests and homework. The language department has only two teachers, the one loses his temper on a regular basis and has zero sympathies towards his students, and sets too high of expectations for a regular course in a language that we are just learning. Harbor Creek is progressively going more and more downhill.
I like how much everyone at Harbor Creek truly cares about each other. I do feel as though sometimes certain groups of students may feel less appreciated so that could be resolved. Overall it is a wonderful learning environment that has amazing teachers who will put in so much effort to help their students.
The staff at my high school were all very great people. They were friendly and always willing to help a student out. Also, I went to school with most of these people since elementary school, so it is always nice to see people I've been with for a long time. The school holds many fun things for students to do and we have some of the best sports teams in the county.
I like the wide variety of different classes I can take. The other great this about harbor creek is that the guidance department is outstanding. If I have an issue they help me get through it and will find the solution with me.
Harbor Creek is a very close knit community and everyone looks out for each other. I love Harbor Creek because of that and I know that people will always be there to help me if I need it.
