Dundee-Crown High School has its good and bad parts. Teachers are very engaged with students and truly want to see them succeed in life.
I wish the school gave more consequences to bad behavior and/or actions. It’s basically open threats of being kicked out or detention with no real follow through. Students know this and walk all over the teachers and staff.

Dundee-Crown is a very diverse school. They welcome everyone, but security is sometimes too serious or too overbearing, in the wrong areas. While students are smoking weed or doing drugs in the bathroom, the security is worried about the students trying to go out for food during lunch, or trying to come back after an early release to see the trainer.
As a senior at Dundee-Crown I can without a doubt was a bad experience for me. While I did make many good memories on sports teams, at basketball and football games, ect. I would be lying about my experience if I failed to acknowledge the lack of professionalism from many teachers and the looming sense of apathy from most students in the school. There seems to be a collective effort to not try. Most students complain about the workload, but the AP and Honors students rarely make comments and the vast majority of them play sports and are involved in the very little amount of clubs we have at Dundee Crown. Overall, it's got pluses and minuses just as every other school does and the experience you have just depends on your perception.
Some of the worst experiences that I had in Dundee Crown High school was not being able to go to the restroom due to them being closed to vandalism. The best experience that I had in Dundee Crown high school is to be involved in the automotive and electrical program. These classes get you ready for the real world and help you with industrial side of the workplace.
The best parts of Dundee-Crown is the friends I have made in sports, even though we are at a disadvantage compared to other schools when it comes to funding and supplies. Dundee-Crown is extremely diverse, meaning you can make all sorts of friends with different tastes. The worst part is the safety, the school is vastly unprepared when it comes to safety. There are brutal fights multiple times a week, and when there are threats made to the school, administration puts the students at risk due to their inactivity in preparedness. Something I would like to see change, is administration do more for the care of their students.
There is no place like Dundee Crown high school, it is truly a special place. Between the different social classes and ethnic diversity it really opens your eyes to the real world and things that you might see after high school. Everyday is a new adventure at Dundee Crown in the best way possible.
My time at Dundee-Crown thus far has been an experience that is true to its standards. The school's diversity never fails to amaze me and the various outlets of support that are provided to students are incredible. My personal experience with sports on the other hand has not been the best. Although we carry a large range of sports, many of the coaches hired are unable to follow through with their duties and carry high attributes of favoritism and lack of communication towards members of the team. I was on the varsity dance team from my freshman through senior year and I don't believe I have gone a season without the sport damaging my health mentally. Besides the downside of my athletic career, Dundee-Crown shows much pride in all it caters to.I love being a charger in the community around me.
I really enjoy attending Dundee-Crown High School. Being a student here, I feel very comfortable with all of my teachers and feel that they truly care for me and my well being. There are a lot of resources and opportunities being a student here. This school has a lot of diversity and offers many clubs and activities for students. Myself and others have felt unsafe at this school before, but staff and administration have worked really hard to fix these issues and ensure that everyone at Dundee-Crown feels safe.
Some of the best parts are the diversity and people that come from all different backgrounds. The worst parts are the physical altercations that happen almost everyday, the lack of motivated teachers, not enough awareness of the different types of programs this school offers, and the way the building is structured making it very crowded. I would like to see stricter punishments for student violations, a better free lunch provided to the students, and more events that talk about different types of programs/paths you can join.
This school has great programs and an incredible staff dedicated to helping you succeed. There are some structural parts of the building that could be improved, such as plumbing and lighting.
In my time at Dundee-Crown High School, I have observed a few things. Most of the teachers at this school are very wise and kind and looking out for their students. However, there are a handful that can make learning a little more difficult for there students. Also, the staff can be very fun but also know when to stick their ground so students obey the rules. Even though Dundee-Crown has a bad reputation, the lively spirit of the school and wise teachers make up for it all.
I went to Dundee-Crown for 3 years and most of the staff is AMAZING you'll have one teacher every once in a while you don't get along with but the rest of the staff Is amazing. My brother also attends and had trouble with school as long as I can remember, but the councilors are all very helpful and made my brother a plan to make sure he had all of the things he needed and made him a plan for success. The sports themselves may not have the best records but the coaches are the most caring coaches I believe you'll ever find. I did swim and softball and each coach I have dealt with has always made me want to succeed and further my experience within Dundee-crown sports. I highly recommend attending Dundee-crown for high school.
Dundee-Crown Highschool is a fairly well kept school filled with staff who are mostly willing and actively trying to help students succeed or, at the very least pass their classes. Like every school there are the occasional slip ups but the school is run well and the resources are there for students who want them.
The staff was nice and helpful. In addition, the school was nice and had a good environment. The students were nice and I wish I could’ve been at the school longer; however, unfortunately the COVID pandemic happened.
There's a lot more to Dundee-Crown High School than meets the eye. The building is fairly old, the surrounding location is not exactly the epitome of safety, and much of the equipment and infrastructure is rundown. Despite all this, Dundee-Crown High School manages to provide a quality high school experience, finding creative ways to account for their disadvantages and even leveraging them to excel in certain aspects. As a senior that was heavily involved at the school, I've had some great experiences with the athletic and music departments, and if you are committed to challenging yourself, Dundee-Crown High School is an exceptional educational opportunity as well. What Dundee-Crown lacks in material objects is more than made up for by the character of its inhabitants, its teachers, and its students, and that to me justifies a 4 star rating for the school.
I liked the diversity and the amazing staff that help make everyday at school better. However, sometimes I did not feel safe at crown and did not feel connected to half of the students because of language barriers and social isolation. I wish I got to experience all of crown all 4 years and not had to deal with covid 19.
The people and teachers are okay, but the school should get renovations. Halls are extremely crowded and the schools population is continuing to grow.
