I wish I never enrolled in this school. Someone just called me from the school named penny telling me about my financial aid and when I asked her a question abt financial aid she was rude and hung up on my. Dealing with the staff here has been a nightmare no one answers their phones and they are rude! The people at the financial aid office are rude Halfway through the semester I found out I applied for the wrong year and the lady just laughed at the person next to her and didn’t help me at all. The people at the bursars office were nicer and told me how to fix it. With the exception of the teachers of course. All expect one of my teachers are kind and I enjoy their classes. The school is very unorganized as well as the noodle platform they use and they expect everyone to figure it out on their own. This was my first and last semester at this school bc I can’t put up with this for 2 years. I only came because it’s closer but I would recommend other colleges. Even if it’s a little far.
My overall experience at Essex County College is nothing else but pleasant and supportive towards my journey of studies. Professors are well spoken, most are passionate about the subject they teach, and most have always aimed to help me further assimilate into college/adult life. Campus is very close to home so its very convenient and parking is free for students which is something I appreciate greatly. It is a very diverse university and I have met lots of wonderful students who have the same energy and passion in achieving their academic goals. Tuition is the only negative however but aside from that I so far have really enjoyed being a part of the community here since there always are student activities and events held to help network and overall meet new people. Overall my experience at Essex County College is positive and I am dually grateful for the opportunity to even be here studying , furthering my goals in life.
My time at Essex County School has been a mixed bag, but one aspect that stands out is the support system in place for students struggling with their classes. I really appreciated the extra help and resources available, which made a big difference in my academic journey.
On the other hand, one area that needs improvement is the food prices. It's absurd that we have to pay so much for food when we're already struggling to pay tuition. It feels like we're being nickel and dimed, and it adds up quickly. By the end of the semester, it feels like we've spent a small fortune on food alone.
I believe that making food more affordable would make a huge difference in the lives of students. It's hard enough to focus on studies when you're worried about finances. I hope the school will consider finding ways to make food more accessible and affordable for all students.
