All-in-all, Williamson PR is a great company to intern for (nonpaid). Starting off with the not so pleasant thing: Like many internships, you are expected to do non-profession related tasks such as taking out the garbage and washing the dishes. You are also sent out to pick-up and drop-off samples from time to time. It’s part of start-up culture since you are at the bottom of the rung. Just doing your best in every task assigned to you, no matter how menial, earns you praise and recognition for being a hard worker. The founder cares about her staff a lot and treats them well. She buys food from time to time and breaks out champagne most Fridays, interns excluded. You gain a lot of industry experience. The PR staff delegates important tasks to interns frequently so expect to be busy but the learning experience really prepares you for the workplace.
