I work in the OR. They do not credit you for being certified, therefore lack of good pay. They are understaffed always keeping people for overtime. They refuse to hire more people. The management makes up excuses for people not to do their job. UPMC continues to buy hospitals but doesn't put the money back into the system. We do not have today's technology in those operating rooms. People are not properly trained and educated for the jobs that they do which affects the entire process. Staff speaks out and then it feels like they are being punished for doing so.
The only good thing is, I love what I do. They have flexible scheduling which is also nice.

I loved working at UPMC because of the hospitality of the staff members. When I started working there I was little anxious because it was my first time working in a hospital as a CNA, but the staff members made me feel so comfortable, and I knew I could always count on them if I needed anything. I felt as though I was not alone because they made me feel welcomed.
Another thing that I love about the hospital is that is room for growth, and the insurance plan it offers is exceptional. I also fell in love with the work ethics and admire hospital's dedication in taking care of patients most pleasantly and effectively.

I love working at UPMC. Everyone is always willing to teach. As a nursing student, I really appreciate the way I can learn through my job. My superiors are all very nice. I will continue to work there as a nurse!
