Overall UPMC Mercy has been a great learning experience being that I work on a med surge unit. Working through UPMC has inspired me to go back to school for nursing and advance my career. I can definitely say I'm not the only one that have made these similar decisions. A lot of nurses start of as a nursing assistant. UPMC is a great learning facilities. But they have to find ways to be a lot more understanding with school schedules because of policy stating that some directors lose staff because of this. Understanding that it's difficult doing so with multiple peoples schedules conflicting each others and hospitals still need to be staffed.
I absolutely love the environment and staff at Mercy. I feel that every person truly cares about their coworkers.
One of the best hospitals to work and go to for treatment. Amazing staff, everyone is very compassionate and want to make a great impression.
