I FOUND MY PASSION WORKING AT THIS JOB IN PSYCH DEPARTMENT. I AM ENCOURAGED TO PURSUE MY REGISTERED NURSING DEGREE TOWARDS PSYCHIATRY AND BECOME A NURSE PRACTITIONER. I ALSO PLAN TO CREATE MULTIPLE GROUP HOMES FOR MENTAL ILLNESS PATIENTS AND BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH THEIR PROGRESS TO A STABLE SOME WHAT NORMAL LIFE. MY JOB BEING DIRECTLY IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN I SEE EVERYTHING DOWN TO CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY, PSYCHOSIS AND HOMELESS PATIENTS. YOU SEE SOME PATIENTS VISIT PSYCH WITH THE WRONG INTENTION TO GET A CHECK OR SOMETHING VERSUS SEEING REAL LIVE DETOX OR VIOLENT DRUG USERS. MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE IS GREAT AND CAN'T WAIT TO FINISH MY DEGREE TO MAKE A HUGE IMPACT.
They really appreciate their employees. Constantly giving thanks and sharing treats to show it. Although it may not be among the most higher paid hospitals, the close knit feel while working here is very much appreciated. THIS IS NOT A MONEY HOSPITAL!
People here create a family feeling, does not feel corporate in any way. You see many of the employees starting and finishing their entire career in this hospital.
