Sodexo Reviews
Rating 3.73 out of 5 109 reviews
While the company gives the opportunity for international students to work while studying, it takes advantage of college students working there. Students are paid under the minimum wage and extremely micromanaged, no past experience is taken into consideration when talking about pay rates or duties. People are cross hired, meaning that job descriptions aren't accurate and cashiers end up being utility workers and food service workers without agreeing to it in the first place.
I spent 15 years as a Sodexo operations and general manager. I enjoyed every moment leading Sodexo accounts in Ohio and Florida.
Compensation was above the local market and my quality of life was always important to my leaders and the company.
My position was eliminated because of Covid-19 and it boiled down to seniority. At 15 years, I was third in seniority at my level. My two colleagues have worked for Sodexo for 17.5 and 23 years. What a statement about the company!

I was employed as a student worker through Sodexo while attending Western Wyoming Community College as a full-time student. The hiring was process was very simple and straightforward, and I was immediately given the opportunity to work. The management was helpful and understanding in working around my class schedule, and made sure to offer me additional opportunities to pick up hours elsewhere. Additionally, after working for a semester and proving loyalty to the company, I was given discounted rates for meal plans as a student, which made all the difference for me. I also took advantage of the Sodexo's offer to pay for one of my college courses each semester, so long as I maintained a satisfactory GPA. Working for Sodexo was the best financial opportunity I could have made while attending my first two years of college.
