Senior Employee: Acadian is an amazing place to start as an EMT for experience with everything from wheelchair van transports, 911 emergency calls and transfers to and from hospitals or nursing homes. Acadian will give you all the tools, free as an employee to keep up with all your certifications and if you would like, they will pay for your schooling for paramedic with the promise that you work for them for 2 years after finishing your education. Which is job security. In the Central Texas area with management actually cares about the people on the ground and in the field. And that makes all the difference. Experienced Employee: My experience at West Jefferson has been bittersweet. I love patient care. I have been a patient care tech for 7. 5 yrs. West Jefferson is my family away from my family. Ive learner what it really means to be a hard worker, team player, and leader. Management could just some work. The pay isnt that great. The staff recieves .15 raises annually. There isnt much room to grow in my career field unless you go back to college. The benefits are terrible. You pay more out of pocket then the insurance covers. The ED department isn't fond of your personal life. The schedule is made based on yhe unit needs. You could request time off months in advance, but you wont know for sure if you got the time off until the schedule comes out for that period. The work place culture is greatly diversed. The overall experience has a pleasure because of the awesome ppl i work with. Im a current employee. The only thing that keeps me at this facility is my co workers.... Read 3 reviews
