Experienced Employee: Children's Mercy is a great place to work. The company itself if amazing, and seems to care about the employees. There is opportunity for growth within this company, some schooling may be required to move up but it is possible. Children's Mercy is very patient centered, and it is encouraged to have fun with the patients and make their stay as easy as possible. I would say that is one of the best aspects about working in a children's hospital. Management is always friendly, towards staff and patients/families. It is easy to balance home and work life with the schedules. This is a learning hospital, and everyone is willing to help each other out, show each other new skills/techniques. There are many certifications that are offered within the hospital for employees to expand on skills and grow as a CNA or RN. Senior Employee: I have the best supervisor ever and this is a wonderful place to work! My supervisor is understanding of the family/work balancing act that we are all trying to keep up with! She always has my back and is always available to help with projects that I am struggling with or need advice on. The employees at this hospital genuinely care for the patients and the visitors. Anyone who clears the doorway becomes our priority and we enjoy helping others get well and stay well. The clinical staff are top notch and keep themselves at the top of their game by continuing their education and reading up on recent discoveries and research.
