Entry Level Employee: Great hospital!Sarasota Memorial Hospital is a Magnet hospital and just received its fourth certification. SMH located in a safe neighborhood, close to the downtown, near the beaches. My coworkers are very courteous and knowledgeable. Most people have worked there for years. Teamwork is survival in a paced, stressful, challenging work environment. Not obedience to authoritarianism. Management very accommodating to my schedule and my flexibility. Excellent benefits, including the right health insurance. One of the essential benefits for me is a tuition reimbursement program. Entry Level Employee: Working at TMH has allowed me to grow. I worked as a patient care assistant, which allowed me to gain precious hands on experience and also have interactions with many providers. First, patient care experience was the main reason I applied to this job. I was originally hired for post-procedures, but my manager was impressed with my work ethic and cross trained me to do pre-op. As a student preparing for grad school, this experience was critical and working here has allowed me to gain lots of opportunities to learn. Second, I also liked how I was able to interact with not only nurses, but doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistant in regards to patient care. I was able to not only network, but also gain crucial inside personal perspectives on their jobs and how they work. Lastly, our unit had a great atmosphere.
