Experienced Employee: The company does have lots of benefits that prioritize employees needs, they are better than any place I've worked in fact in taking care of their staff. There is an issue if staffing that was made harder by the pandemic and in certain aspects the way management has changed has lots some valuable workers. Intern / Student Worker: I liked how everyone worked together, I enjoyed being there and learning from others. Everyone was willing to help each other and make sure the work was done. The doctors were really friendly to interact with. As a student, if I didn't do something right they would correct me and tell me how to do it the right way. The shifts were usually from around 7-3 every day with a 30 mins lunch break, so it was very fair. The hospital was a little but with help from the signs you could figure it out. Overall I worked in helping patients and proving patient care. A friend of mine also works at AGH and she states that she doesn't enjoy it as much as I do. She works 5-1 shifts. She thinks her management could improve and she could work better with her co-workers. She feels as though it is not a good work environment and needs improvement. Entry Level Employee: I loved working at UPMC because of the hospitality of the staff members. When I started working there I was little anxious because it was my first time working in a hospital as a CNA, but the staff members made me feel so comfortable, and I knew I could always count on them if I needed anything. Experienced Employee: I have only worked here for a short period of time, but I love it! They make it so it is completely patient care centered, while also including the employees and making them feel like a family instead of just an employee. They are currently working on renovations, so I am eager to see it once it is completed. Everyone is friendly to one another. In fact, they have a policy of the 1o and the 5 feet. When you are within 10 feet from someone, you should smile and acknowledge the person, then at 5 feet you are supposed to greet one another with a simple hello, to how's your day and things of that nature.... Intern / Student Worker: Excela health is really a great option for those who cannot make it out to Pittsburgh. They really have a lot of specialties, and I feel that most of our staff, if not all, really do want to make everyone better mentally, emotionally, and physically. I do feel that they do need more nursing staff on a wide range of shifts. Having four nurses with 5-6 patients each may result in a deficit; however, all the nurses are very good at what they do. Experienced Employee: The management of this office is amazing. They keep the over-all spirit up in all their employees. I love the work i do. I am an orthopedic technician and I Place patients into cast if needed. Room them, find out what is going on. Everyday is new and different. Always something to learn. Now i am working with a foot and ankle doctor, which i had no idea how involved the foot and ankles are! Also i work with the orthopedic oncologist, she is amazing. Truly the perfect doctor for the situation these patients are possibly facing. The experience alone working with oncology makes you have a whole other appreciation for medicine. It’s also humbling. I would recommend my office as a great learning environment and overall the office staff is truly amazing. Entry Level Employee: I have only worked at Sherwood Oaks for 5 months, but it has been a fantastic experience. My managers have been very supportive and accommodating with my busy high school schedule and extracurricular activities demands. Many of the people I work with are also high school and college students and the atmosphere is friendly and everyone seems to be willing to help each other like a team. The hours of work will allow me to continue to work throughout the school year which was important for me as I am saving money for college. Another perk is free food! I work as a server in a dining room and the chefs prepare amazing food that all of the servers get to try. One of my favorite things about working at Sherwood Oaks is my interaction with the retired patrons that I get to serve and do little things for them that make a big difference to them!!...
