Entry Level Employee: I started out as a research student and upon graduating with my Bachelor's degree, I was thankful to be promoted to full time. Throughout the organization, there is quite a familial atmosphere. It is incredibly humbling to walk throughout the hospital (main campus) and see all of the caregivers (staff) and patients and their families walking about, making the puzzle come together. There are plenty of opportunities throughout the organization to get involved and make connections. My area is research, which sometimes feels very siloed from the organization itself. Sometimes expectations are unclear and the work is very independent. Again, this is in an informatics research environment, so this is not generalizable to the entire organization! Altogether, the organization is something to aspire to be a greater part of and I'm proud to call myself a "caregiver" of the Cleveland Clinic.... Read 80 reviews

Experienced Employee: I have worked as a registered nurse for Summa Akron City Hospital since 2017. During that time I have had the privilege to work in the Heart Lung Unit, which is their CCU/SCVICU. All I can say is that I have enjoyed the people that I have worked with over the years. The nurses, doctors, techs, my unit manager, as well as the assistant manager are all wonderful to work with. Everyone seems to have one goal in mind, which is to deliver high quality patient care to those in which we serve. Just like any healthcare facility, there are areas that need to improve. First off, there needs to be better staff to patient ratios. Our healthcare system in this country often utilizes less staff for more patients, which is not good for the patient's safety or well being. Secondly, like any employee, I would like to see higher wages and better benefits. Although the insurance is decent, I do feel that the retirement benefits leave room for improvement.
