Experienced Employee: I just started working at Coach at one of my local malls, and I have to say that this workplace provides great work experience for college students interested in Fashion. I am a Fashion Merchandising major myself, so Coach is right up my alley. Coach provides a competitive pay, and is generally flexible with hours which is perfect for a full-time student like myself. Although it is still retail so working on the weekends is required.Coach also gives bonuses on our paychecks called “teamshare” whenever our store meets the desired sales goal for the month. The employee discount is 65% ,which is really nice, and they have a tuition assistance program. There are benefits included as well. Entry Level Employee: I work as a free-lance stylist at TCP, so I get booked on a week to week basis. Perks of the job include an in-house fitness center, reimbursed lunches, and a near by bus stop with all-day service to the heart of Manhattan (great for meeting friends or going on a solo adventure after work). Down sides are inconsistent hours and a clique filled work environment, so often times only the bosses favorite employees get hired (some are favored for personality rather than quality of work). Another issue: because I'm free-lance, I don't receive any benefits or PTO. For taxes I file as self-employed, and despite being in a low income bracket (and being a college student) I still need to pay 15% in taxes. I'd recommend working here! Entry Level Employee: My overall experience at Karen Millen has been amazing. I began working here in 2015, shortly after leaving my sales associate job at Guess Inc. It's really hard being a full time college student and working but at Karen Millen, my managers work with my school schedule so the two never conflict and i still have time to, to have a social life. Most of the time work doesn't even feel like work because the entire staff gets along so well. Being that this is only my second retail job, i was a little hesitant about the pay but the compensation is more than enough to keep up my college lifestyle.
