Experienced Employee: My company is great. The benefits are unbeatable! You have education, health, dental, optical, car insurance, life insurance, 401k, contribution matching, PTO, the only draw back is the fact that there is no maternity leave. They make women take short term disability instead. You do get free use of the pulse bus line. There are so many benefits its hard to list them all. However they make you pay an extreme amount for parking and continue to expand the hospital and not add in more parking structures.

Experienced Employee: Local VDSS agencies consist of mostly skilled workers, but pay and workloads tend to lead to frequent turnovers at some agencies. Some members of management feel that they are above maintaining a caseload, and they continue to pile work on to others while they do nothing. Some agencies and employees want to work together and some don't. My agency is good at getting along with one another, but the pay is lower than the work output, and there haven't been many opportunities for advancement or recognition.

There are some very cool perks for this job, such as driving luxury vehicals and meeting a ton of good folk. I also get to know and drive to different parts of my home state and outside the state as well. Very lovely place to work. Dispatching is a very rewarding position as well.

Our group homes are for individuals with Intelligential Disabilities. They help individuals that can no longer live at home or have no one to help care for them. Good Neighbor Day Support gives the individuals a place to go to learn basic skills needed for self-care. The dedicated staff take them out into the community to help them not feel that they are outsiders. They have chores in the home that they are required to perform. Home cooked meals everyday three times a day and medication management.
I am proud to be a part of a company that is dedicated to helping.
