Niche User: I have been served as an Active Duty member in the US Air Force for the last 5.5 years and can say that it is the best decision I have ever made in my life--right next to deciding to continue my education to earn a degree. In the Air Force I have had a lot of wonderful experiences! In regard to my primary job itself, my best experience has been attributed to working alongside dental providers that are willing to teach and educate the rest of the staff. Niche User: Army is definitely a choice that I made and do not regret. There are many resources and benefits in the army. For example, there are education benefits that pay for school. There is also a possibility an enlistment bonus depending on the branch, especially in the National Guard. Once you graduate Basic Combat Training(BCT) and Advanced Individual Training(AIT), you are now a soldier of the U.S. Army. For National Guard, there are drill weekends once a month for a few days(it varies time by time), and they pay you few hundred dollars. The food is also provided, and you do your thing. There is Annual Training once a year, which is a two week thing. There are gyms in facilities that soldiers may use. Everyone is respected and welcome. Experienced Employee: I have spent 16 years in the Marine Corps and have enjoyed every minute of it. It has helped shaped me into the man I am today. It gave me a lot of opportunities to travel and see the world. One thing that I would change about the Marine Corps is putting more of an effort into educating Marines on proper fitness, diet, and education. As I am getting out of the Marine Corps, I am attending separation classes that help to prepare me to transition from the military to civilian life. Some of the classes spoke of educational benefits that I did not know about during my time that I could have completed that could have made me more marketable. Another thing was proper fitness and how to get into shape. I saw a lot of Marines that tried to get into better shape whether it be from working out, crossfit, cardio etc. Most of these Marines got injured or did not meet their goals because they did not know how to do any of the activities listed above correctly.... I had to work 3 jobs even with the "employee discount" they offer on rent. If you're thinking about becoming a leasing agent my advice would be to treat it like a temp job.
