Entry Level Employee: While working on the sales floor in the Home and Kids section, you have the opportunity to work in an environment that allows you to work at your own pace. I had the luxury of running a few sections while stocking the rest of the department. The prospect of having an area of your own was very exhilarating and it paved a path that allowed the job to be less of a chore. Being a veteran of the stocking system gave me insight on the flaws of the system. Products would occasionally be added despite the floor being full, while certain assets that needed to be filled would remain vacant. A lot of improvements could be made regarding what each employee was to do on a daily basis. Each area would benefit from a system that determined when it should be recovered and replenished based on the section. We did have a problem with staffing shortages as did all of healthcare, but management has really focused on this issue and it has gotten alot better. Pay is still not at the level most would want, but leadership did also focus on this and has improved it from what it was. The people that work at UW Health are some of the best people I know.
