Manager / Director: I like the fact that working here has not overwhelmed me due to having a disability and being a mother. I am able to work the hours and make a decent paycheck. The job is easy and there is always more positions to apply for to make more money. I have obtained alot of experience work as a cashier than an Assistant Manager. I get to meet wondering that I may work with. Some of the customers may even be wonderful. If you are a college student and need a job with hours like 4 or 5 out the day with the choice of working more, than Dollar Tree is definitely worth looking into. If I could change a few things it would be more pay for the cashiers and using more help with truck days. Some stores just need more employees for stock and have training working on resigters. Overall Dollar Tree had been one of my biggest success since I first started working for them at another location in 2010. I have worked in several locations over a period of time. Experienced Employee: I am currently a medical assistant with one of Bon Secour Mercy Health's cardiology clinics that work under the Maryview Medical Center. As an experienced medical assistant of four (going on five years) One of those years spent working for this company, I do have to say that their benefits were the icing on the cake for me. They have impeccable health packages and retirement benefits that were offered, one of which was the tuition assistance which I personally took part of. With benefits aside, this clinic in particular, was extremely fast paced meaning if you didn't pace yourself you'd definitely be burnt out for sure. Experienced Employee: Sentara Norfolk General is one of the best companies you can work for. Not only do they offer great benefits, they are offer competitive wages. Management is wonderful and they offer wonderful benefits like PAL and Sick pay which you accumulate per pay period. If you attend school they will try to work around your school schedule. They are huge supporters of helping there employees continue higher education which they even offer reimbursement/promissory notes for college. During my tenure at Norfolk General they have created new job opportunities to remain competitive and offer higher wages and advancement for employees. They culture of the workplace is family oriented. This position is the longest I have been within a company without having the desire to leave and I plan on retiring with Sentara. Being located in downtown Norfolk it is the ideal place to work and since its a Level 1 Trauma Center being centrally located allows neighboring communities to utilize the services here.... Entry Level Employee: I worked at the Navy Exchange for two years and I really enjoyed it. My position was a cashier and although the job had its ups and downs, it was still a good job. If you are a person who likes to constantly stay busy and moving around, like me, then cashier position wouldn’t be ideal for you. Entry Level Employee: They have an amazing start up program for students who have graduated from college. They have either a program to become a plumbing/HCAV/Outside sales specialist or a showroom consultant. They will teach you diligently and will provide a sign on bonus. It's worth the education and training to take through Ferguson. They will take good care of you and the people there are very driven. They all work together, but there is so much work to be done throughout the day. Experienced Employee: Since being employed and Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, I have been given great training and and encouragement to continue in my pursuit and dream of becoming a registered nurse. The first-hand experience that I am receiving is unlike anything that I would experience otherwise. I currently work on the Surgery and Orthopedic unit where I am experiencing so many different diagnoses and procedures. The nurses in my unit are so great about allowing me to be up close with many different areas of care including wound care, physical therapy, and any other post-operative care needed by the patient. If I were to change anything, it would be that anyone who worked in patient care would have a more compassionate look at patients I would also, on a more superficial side, have better lunch options for staff.
