Experienced Employee: I love what I do everyday as a surgical technologist. Being able to assist surgeons when their patients are in need is a very humble, but rewarding job. The people I work worth are just as dedicated to patient safety and comfort at any time they come back to the OR. We go out of our way to make sure the patient does not feel as if they are burden to us. The best part, for me, has to be the fact that Genesys is a teaching hospital. There is never a shortage of teaching moments between the surgeon and their residents or even the hospital staff. As someone who is pursuing a degree in medicine I am thankful for such opportunities when they do happen. However, the union and seniority make it difficult for anything to get done. I have seen a lot of younger people leave this position because of it. Despite the fight with union to increase wages for growth opportunities I do plan on staying; the learning, the benefits, and the job out weigh the bad.... Read 7 reviews

This hospital is known for being top rated in treating patients with strokes and is rated as best hospital for cardiovascular. Intern / Student Worker: I like the diversity of my work place. There is so many departments and opportunities. Considering I'm still an undergraduate student, this is a really good experience to see what the medical field has to offer. I've seen surgeries and written various physician notes throughout the hospital. A major thing I would like to see change is getting paid for days off for holidays; however, considering my position it make sense that we wouldn't get paid but it would still be nice.... Experienced Employee: Maple Woods Manor has phenomenal pay however, they do not work with school schedules and are not flexible with schedules.
