Intern / Student Worker: I worked at Albany Medical Center for 5 years during the Summer months and college breaks in the Winter. I was a medical records specialist in the health information services department. The hospital was phenomenally run, and it was considered to be, by far, the best hospital in the capital region. My department and supervisor was excellent. My hours and schedule were completely flexible. I didn't have a huge amount of work piled onto me. Intern / Student Worker: I love that I can make my make my own schedule. It's a very friendly place. While working there I also figured out that I wanted to change career goals. The Nurses there are just so kind and caring to their patients that you have to love it. If you live in Schenectady, New York area is pretty easy to get to the hospital. Entry Level Employee: It is not a bad place to work. It is similar to a hospital in which shifts needs to be always covered. This can result in mandations, and that do occur frequently. Shifts are not fluid and what ever shift you get is the shift you keep, unless there is an opening. Managers are usually ok. They hire from within, so chances are your manager was once your co-worker. Benefits are great, which includes health, eyes, dental, and retirement. You acrue time and is vested after 20years. I would like to see more approved time off. The workers deal with a lot. Burn-out could be an issue from multiple shifts.... Read 3 reviews

Entry Level Employee: From all of the places I've worked, FYE/Trans World Entertainment is the only one that has allowed me to go to school, help my family, and work while having a flexible schedule. My store manager genuinely cares about his employees. Now between the associates and assistant managers, there's quite a bit of social drama and conflicting personalities that create tension, but what's to be expected from a group of teen and young adult women? There are more chances for growth and opportunities to better yourself than any other place I've worked. I do wish that the uppers at corporate would listen to our view on things before they make decisions. Who honestly knows the stores better than the associates who run them?
