Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Reviews

I worked as a float pool RN at Sacred Heart. I really enjoyed working at this hospital because I truly felt that I was able to provide quality care to my patients. The hospital has great staffing ratios on all units and provides exciting extra benefits to employees.
I have worked with Providence since 2015. I started out as a new MA with a brand new cinic. We have grown in the last 5 years and continue to grow. Providence treats employees well, they care about their MAs and want to make sure all needs are met to perform well in MA position. Since COVID, however we lost a lot of MAs due to mothers having to become stay at home moms to care for their children doing online schools. It is encouraging that Providence is trying to hire staff as quick as possible.
Management needs to care more about the people who actually do the work that makes the business run. Nurse to patient ratio should be more realistic. Teamwork should be real and not just words. Consistent standards need to be applied. Favoritism should not exist. Employees should not have to work injured or suffer violence at the hands of patients or visitors. Stop cutting benefits.
Benefits are good, however there is a lack of teamwork or respect for co-workers in support positions.
Overall a great place to work in the medical field in terms of day to day. Upper management does make decisions in their best interest over that of front line employees, especially in a time where healthcare expenses are climbing and reimbursement is declining.
Sacred Heart is an excellent place to work. The staff for the most part is helpful and team oriented.
