I've been employed at Alaska CARES which is the offshoot of Providence Alaska for a little over a year now. I am a Forensic Interviewer at AK CARES which is a children's advocacy center. I love my job and the people I work with. I love that each day that I come into work, I know that I have a purpose and a means to impact children and families. I would like to see more people hired as advocates for children and families and I would like to see management increase their involvement in the activities that go on in the clinic. Meaning, sometimes I feel as if management listens to the complaints or issues that may arise but does not often heed them and/or try to fix them in a timely manner. Overall, I love my job and the people I work with.
I was a resident on PCU/IMCU that grew into a charge nurse role. It was an amazing experience. So much support from co-workers and management. This place genuinely fostered growth and development as a nurse. I couldn't recommend this hospital enough.
Becoming a person of Providence was one of the best things I have ever done. The work environment created is one any person can continue to grow. The “...ease my way” applies to everyone from patients to caregivers, Providence really takes care to hire people with the willingness to achieve and maintain that mission. I couldn’t be more proud to be a PAMC employee.
