I enjoyed Princess Cruises. I worked there for almost four years. I worked in about 3 different departments which gave me a fuller experience with the company. I was happy I was able to move up quickly and efficiently. I found the company was what you made of it, if you were excited to be there and worked hard it paid off. They had easy procedure and rules and overall treated their employees well. I would like to see more time and money invested into their employees in the future. When I started in 2012 the entry salary was $10 an hour, however when I left in 2019 it was only $11 and no raises when the company was doing really well.
The experience was great! lots of cool people you get to meet. I worked as a server. The time spent there helped me to start conversations with others. I learned a lot of life lessons while there from people that have been alive longer than me. The management is really nice to you and they are pretty flexible if you ask for it in advance. It gave me the opportunity to explore Alaska from Anchorage to Fairbanks. I would highly recommend this job to those who want to explore the world.
The merger with Holland America Lines, was not the best direction that the company could have made. Overall the culture changed so much that it is not inviting to work for this company any longer.
