My experience at Play It Again Sports has been wonderful. My hours are very flexible. Hard work has paid off for me since working there. After a year and a half I have worked my way up to manager and a significant pay raise. I have learned more about business than I ever imagined. As a manager, I trade and buy used sports equipment from people. This gives me first hand experience doing business with people. The only aspect about the store that concerns me is the location. The crime rate for the area that the store is located is higher than some surrounding areas. Moving to one of the more safe surrounding areas would benefit the store tremendously.

I enjoy working at the Columbia, Missouri Play It Again Sports because my coworkers are very good and kind people. They never ask me to do boring jobs for my whole shift. every shift I have a variety of different tasks to do. My boss allows me to make my schedule and understands that I have a life outside of work. If I make a mistake instead of yelling at me my coworkers explain to me how to correct my error. This teaching style allows me to become a better worker and make less mistakes. I love my job and highly recommend working at Play It Again Sports.
I started as a sales associate and am now the store manager. My store is part of a six store franchise so it may run differently than other stores. My contention is that this job is for part-time and seasonal employees but if you are looking for a long-term career, it is not the best option. Responsibilities are not transferrable compared to a big-box store.
