Pizza Hut Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 227 reviews
I absolutely love my job at Pizza Hut. It's definitely my favorite job by far. My position is cut table. At cut table, I cut and box the pizzas, and I'm also in charge of the fryer station. At this station I'll drop wings, fries, mozzarella sticks, and apple pies. At my interview, the general manager was so nice and considerate of me. She didn't schedule me to close because of the fact that I'm still in high school. That meant a lot to me because my last job didn't consider that whatsoever. All the employees/managers are so nice and it's an ideal environment to work in. The food benefits are helpful too. They will let us eat a reasonable amount of food for free on our break. I have recommended this job to my friends because of how much I favor it!
Pay is mostly based off of tips and if people were stingy with tips, you didn't make money. Paid for milage but not enough to actually cover the gas price especially as they raised. Felt like I was either sitting doing absolutely nothing or it was none stop deliveries with no time for breaks. Discount on the food but its not the best and coupons actually gave more of a discount most times. Inside was shut down during the midst of the pandemic but people would still barge in despite all of the signs posted around and it would cause lots of issues. Regional manager would randomly show up and yell at us for any thing and everything and stated that if you weren't receiving good tips it was your fault and not the fact that most of the clientele was older and didn't believe in tipping for just delivery. Often times instructions from one management personnel would contradict the other and lead to point deductions and unnecessary meetings to discuss proper workplace rules. Would not recommend
Pizza Hut was a good growing opportunity for me. I began working there as a cook at 16, moved up to a shift manager at 18, and then took over my store as General Manager at just 20 years old. While this was great for me as an individual and for my resume, the experience itself as a GM was challenging. The Area Coach and higher ups were rarely willing to assist when I needed help and would rather focus on any negatives. I had a decades old store that my team and I worked diligently to get cleaned, but were not recognized for it because it wasn't as clean as the brand new store in the same area. We were also told we were never off the clock as a GM, even on vacation. I was compensated very poorly for all I was doing. I loved my store and my team and I loved working hard, but it was because of higher management and being severely underpaid (less than the assistant manager in the same area) that I left the store I was so attached to in search of better things.
