Working at DOT has shown me a lot about an office work place. There’s a couple different dynamics that come along with it. Type of workers, level of production, and level of diversity. Each of these help make up what the company is trying to stand for in NYC. I personally don’t think it’s a place for young competitive people but if you’re interested in working for the place you live and having stability and flexibility then it’s a great place for you.
The department of transportation has many opportunities for growth as millennials and mid-career hires. The work schedule is great with room to work from home twice a week and regular days off. What I would like to see change is the retirement benefits for millennials and more women of our generation represented
