McKesson Reviews
Rating 4.03 out of 5 30 reviews
I only had 2-3 months of normalcy before covid hit the world. We deliver medical supplies to various types of doctors offices, emergency care, and hospitals. So, it became very overwhelming knowing that any office or hospital you entered could have spread the virus to you and then brought home to your family! It gave me extreme anxiety and has led me to take a leave of absence due to the anxiety.
The job itself is not bad, it can wear down on your body if you work in the warehouse, constant walking, bending, etc.. Management has a lot to do with work environment, been working there long enough to have 5 different management teams. Bad management creates a very toxic, volatile, and stressful environment. Good management makes working there enjoyable and stress free. Hard to move up unless you plan to transfer. Good pay and benefits compared to the competition. Not the worst job you can have, but its not the best either, like stated above, management deeply affects the vibe of the shift. The company focuses on hiring management that look good on paper, but does not have managerial skills, which often times you either have or you don't. Many managers lack qualities such as trust, fairness, problem solving, and tact. Good managers often get frustrated after hitting walls by trying to fix problems brought to them, and end up leaving.
Overall, McKesson is an excellent company to work for. The benefits are great and compensation is highly competitive for the area at all levels (DC workers up to management). The culture is highly focused on growth and development, which can sometimes be a drawback if you want to stay in a position for long periods of time. Leadership is excellent - especially due to the recent actions of the current CEO Brian Tyler. The company has an extensive history that is not without it's blemishes, but having worked for the company for over 5 years I can say that this company has not had a stronger vision and commitment to healthcare space than now. I urge anyone seeking long term employment in the pharmaceuticals industry to seek out McKesson as their premier choice.
