Mattress Firm Reviews

Pay was fair when I started nearly 10 years ago. Now, commission is dropping. The "base pay" hasn't changed in 10 years, either. Cut in management pay, as well. Growth used to be easy, with inside promotions. Not anymore. Now they're hiring outside the company. Benefits are plenty, but costly. ZERO work/life balance. Very long hours - which are extending 9-9, with the occasional (once a month) early morning meeting on a Saturday before the 12 hour shift. Turnover is high, with most people leaving because of work/life balance or low pay. Culture is a BIG PLUS. The people and company itself is AMAZING.
Pros
*If you join a good team, you’ll have tons of support, encouragement, and positivity
*Like any sales job, I love that my compensation correlates with my effort
*There’s a vision and goal to educate about sleep and how it connects to health/wellness overall
Cons
*The one constant is things will almost always be changing
*Long hours including evenings, and weekends, and holidays
*Culture really depends on the tone the DM and the managers set

Mattress Firm is a great place to meet and interact with a lot of different people and allows you to be yourself and let your personality to shine. The money is amazing when you are making sales and there is an amazing back up hourly pay if you do not make enough sales. Paid time off, volunteer pay, great training and the freedom to grow your own business how you see fit with no micro-management. The hours may be long but you can get a lot done if you know how to use your time wisely.
