Marshalls Reviews

I have worked at my local Marshalls for the past 6 years. However, there are many pros and cons. For instance, we only receive a 10% discount, when tax in our area is 10.75% and it is rare when we receive 20%. In addition, managers have poor communication, so there is work drama that I have to constantly hear about from all of my co-workers. Although there is a lack of employee appreciation and poor communication, I continue to work with this company because they are very flexible with my school schedule. I have to pay my full tuition and work, but I cannot work full-time without reliable transportation and the company understands that. The managers are also open to feedback and suggestions on their good days.
Marshalls is a retail store where you can get brand name items for less. The store is well known for their affordable prices and clothing. Though, Marshalls sells a lot of other stuff such as furniture, beauty care, and etc. Working at Marshalls is great for anyone who is looking to have part-time job on the side or someone who is completely new to working. The positions you can apply for are easy to learn, and the longer you stay, you'll end up learning the other positions too. I was hired at Marshalls as a Merchandise Associate, and my responsibilities were to give excellent customer service on the sales floor. Also, as a Merchandise Associate, I had to put merchandise out and make sure current items were organized. The job is fairly easy to learn and laid-back if you do your work. The management and coworkers I have are friendly. The only downside of Marshalls I'd say is that it is not a job you could live off of. Though, it is a great place to start if you're a student.
My overall experience at Marshalls is average. Like any job it has its good and bad sides. My position is a stockroom associate and I work in the stockroom to unload trucks, process and push merchandise onto the sales floor.
